What's the deal with lvl 49 mobs?

other old threads also report this but there's no answer.
All mobs keep giving increasing exp till 48 (42k), any monster lvl 49+ I've tried drops to 5k, this has nothing to do with my level, I'm the 8 lvl range where exp is not capped.
Is it basically a low level super boost or what?

Thanks. It's not really about needing help. I'm more annoyed by the fact that private servers always declare the exp/drop rates if they're custom.
This one seems to be x10 up to 48 and then x1, and that's quite baffling since it's not mentioned anywhere.

I find this very frustrating as well. You get to level 4x so quick you can barely do any quests, and then after that it's nearly impossible to level by killing mobs around your own level. It took me 2 days to get from level 47 to 49.
Then after that, the only way I got to a higher level was by plvl with people with strong gear. And now I'm 72 and stuck cause I can't level on my own. You can only go a little higher if you have +10 everything or all kiji C and sets. It's very frustrating, you can't go any farther in game with 'normal' gear cause of the exp.

Total agree because people are just waiting for buffs to go exp and party :/
