In DL try mobs 2 levels lower than you (green icon) I'm lvl50 right now, and tested 50 52 54 lvl mobs, and they gave me like 3k exp. 48lvl boars in the woods gave me proper exp (I don't remember the exact value), for the mobs outside DL, You amounts you post, 44k-50k for me looks like proper values.
